In the Spirit of RUCKU.....a helping hand

When RUCKU was set up by Willc it was with the thought of creating one big Rugby family.......well what are families for if not to help each other out?

Most of you will have heard about the tragic injury sustained by Max Levene, a 17 yr old lad, whilst playing the sport he loved. Max has broken his C6 vertebrae and is paralysed from the chest down. He has limited use of his arms and his fingers dont work.

School Blog for info http://www.truroschool.com/school/info/max.asp

He has recently joined the site and has had to dictate his posts, which for a lad who wants to express his personality cant be ideal. (I mean if he wants to call any one of us a Knob, how could he ask his mum to type that?)

Well I got to thinking (not alcohol fuelled this time), that it would be great if the Ruckers on here could have a whip round, and raise enough cash to purchase some software for his laptop to enable him to freely access this site (and others) to keep his spirits up.

I already have a cheque for £50 towards a charity of my choice from a generous overseas member (Peter Lipscomb) and with his blessing, and through my work I am hoping to double match that at least.

Now this software is around a couple of hundred pounds and it would be great if we could generate enough support to enable him to buy a suitable package for his personal needs.

I understand the RFU were to provide him with a laptop and I am trying to ascertain his needs through local contacts.

I know a few of you already suggested a whip round when we first heard of his plight......well now is your chance.

All I am asking for at the moment is an indication of your support whilst I work out what to do next and how best to collect the funds in.

I would be grateful if you would let me know below if you are able to support this initiative (you can send me a direct message if you prefer to remain anonymous).
